About Me

I am an Accredited Psycotherapeutic Counsellor with UKCP and NCPS, Clinical Supervisor, Senior Accredited Pastoral Supervisor APSE, author, trainer and researcher.

My work as a counsellor: this is founded on the belief that we are all individuals, drawing in various psychological approaches depending on individual need.  I work with individual adults who are living with the legacy of developmental trauma and who often find their own behaviour confusing and upsetting.

My main trainings include  Internal Family Systems which is a non-pathologising, mindful way of working towards internal attachment repair.  It is respectful of our protective systems, that have helped us to survive and often defend the parts of us that hold vulnerability, working from the belief that we all have good at our core.

Sensorimotor Psychotherapy  acknowledges that our bodies can hold their own memories which may not have words, and Deep Brain Re-orienting supports the discharge of shock stored deep in the mid-brain.

My work as a researcher: my work has focused on exploring the way Pastoral Supervision is able to support clergy.  I am currently exploring dual relationships within Pastoral Supervision, as part of an MPhil /PhD doctoral research project.

The title of the study is: a phenomenological exploration of how Pastoral Supervisors and

Supervisees, who work within a Christian church context, are impacted by dual

relationships in Pastoral Supervision.
